THE BREAST I SUCKLED

"I am Anita the daughter of Lucifer".

Anita a light-hearted girl, charming, full of virtue and favoured by everyone, really treasured the woman who bore her.

On a scorching sunny Sunday, Anita fell asleep and got entangled in a strange dream. Her mother Grace, an archaic woman trying to keep up with the days trends: crazy makeup, bleached skin, eccentric attires and hairstyles, was rushed to the hospital while in her fashionable clothes and spent her meagre earnings on medications as she was diagnosed of Kidney infection. No one visited her over two weeks and as a result, she became lonely and heartbroken. As each day passed, tears rolled out of her eyes in grief and longing for at least a visit from her daughter which would constitute caring words and welfare packages.

"I'm a corpse", she declared. "I deserve these treatments", she added. She laughed weirdly with tears rushing out of her eyes. "Mum I'm not worthy to be your daughter" she uttered reminiscently. In retrospective, Grace had maltreated her own mother Elizabeth before the poor woman kicked the bucket. "I could recall when you called me to your gist but I snubbed you. Ahh! Now I know..." She mourned her mother. Gradually Grace started becoming skeletal, frail,  miserable, parched, pungent and exhausted about life. The nurses couldn't comprehend nor cared. No one could, Karma was at it again.

"...I murdered you mum", I'm not pleading for a second chance which is impossible, I only seek your forgiveness on my dying bed. I accept my fate but I pity my..." In her lamentation, she heard a sharp voice say in vernacular "how u dey?" Immediately breeze emitted from her anus and body, her bladder loosened and she came swimming in her urine. She was puzzled as well as keen to know who spoke to her. She sluggishly sat up, raised her head and saw her daughter wearing a blunt face, she cried out tears of joy with so much fulfillment in her heart on seeing her daughter. Suddenly, Anita opened the hot food she brought and poured it on her mother's face. Her face scalded and she screamed, "Oh!" Grace screamed for joy and licked her lips becoming ravenous.

Anita woke up sweating, panting and furious about her nightmare. She perceived a delicious meal and hurried to the kitchen; her mother was cooking a hot pepper soup, she fearlessly carried the soup and poured her mother on her legs but was alarmed by her mother's reaction who didn't feel the heat of the soup. Grace in tears gradually raised her gown and cried out: "I never wanted you to see me as a liability".

Unknown to Anita her mother had no legs since birth, Anita felt so astonished but didn't back out, she took a quick glance on the flame from the cooking burner then stared at her mother. Grace was petrified and her legs began to quail, she cried and begged her villainous daughter.

Anita dragged her mother's hair but she pulled off a wig. Grace was alarmed, she saw anger in her daughter's eyes. Anita tightly held her mother's neck and dragged her to the heat of the fire. Her mother tried to escape but she couldn't.

"Who are you?" Grace yelled.

"I am who I said I am" Anita stated.
